Disley Podiatry Clinic

Podiatry

A podiatrist is a specialist who diagnoses and treats disorders of the foot.  The title of podiatrist is now the official term for a chiropodist, bringing the UK into line with the rest of Europe and America.

The training for a podiatrist consists of a 3 year BSc honours degree and a certificate in local anaesthesia.

The term “State Registered” no longer applies, and in line with other health care professions such as physiotherapists, podiatrists are regulated by the Government appointed Health Professions Council.
