Orthotics

Orthoses (also referred to as orthotics), are shoe inserts designed to support and improve foot function and alleviate joint pain in the ankle, knee hip and lower back.  There are many kinds of orthoses, ranging from a simple insole, to a custom made device, moulded around a cast of your foot.

Orthoses will only be prescribed after a detailed biomechanical assessment and in consultation with you.  At The Disley Podiatry Clinic we offer a wide range of insoles and orthoses, including custom made devices.  If you are prescribed, be assured that we will provide a comprehensive service including

· Prescription orthoses designed for your needs

· Provision of any extra treatment required

· Advice on exercises, footwear and foot care

· Follow-up, including initial and on-going treatment plan

· Fine tuning or alteration of any problem with the orthoses
